Objectives

The group aims to build up a fish and plant production in aquatical systems. The project deals with a combination of a renewable energy carrier and structures of manufacturing, distribution and commercialisation. The fish (species: Clarias gariepinus) is grown to be sold on the local market. The animal feed is to be optimized and will have impacts on the composition of seafood (Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids; vitamins). The process water is used to grow plants which are also sold on the local market.

Objectives

Ziel der OG ist der Aufbau einer Fisch- und Pflanzenproduktion basierend auf dem Prinzip der Aquaponik (Aquakultur + Hydroponik). Es soll eine Kombination aus der Nutzung regenerativer Energietraeger (meist Biogas) mit einer Verarbeitungs-, Vertriebs- und Vermarktungsstrukturen entwickelt werden. Die Fische (Afrikanischer Raubwels) werden herangezogen und dann auf dem lokalen Markt durch einen Kooperationspartner angeboten. Die Zusammensetzung des Futtermittels soll auf das Fischfleisch hinsichtlich essentieller Naehrstoffe einwirken und somit dem Endverbraucher ein hoeherwertiges Produkt anbieten. Das Prozesswasser der Fische soll zur Pflanzenproduktion genutzt werden.
