Objectives
The pending subject of the Andalusian durum wheat continues to be the valorisation of large and homogeneous batches of high quality varieties. The main objective of the project is the production of high quality durum wheat with varieties adapted to the variable environments caused by climate change. For this, samples of ten varieties of durum wheat will be produced, representing the current average quality and the quality that can be achieved with new varieties selected for their high quality semolera and pastera. The productivity, the resistance to diseases and plagues will be analyzed, and especially the quality of the different varieties in the different environments
Objectives
La asignatura pendiente del trigo duro andaluz sigue siendo la puesta en valor de partidas grandes y homogéneas de
variedades de alta calidad. El objetivo principal del proyecto es la producción de trigo duro de alta calidad con variedades adaptadas a los ambientes variables causados por el cambio climático. Para ello se producirá muestras de diez variedades de trigo duro que representen la calidad media actual y la calidad que se puede conseguir con nuevas variedades seleccionadas por su alta
calidad semolera y pastera,. Se analizará la productividad, la resistencia a enfermedades y plagas, y especialmente la calidad
de las diferentes variedades en los diferentes ambientes

b1.Realization of statistical tests of agronomic value of ten varieties of durum wheat (3 replications) under rainfed and irrigated conditions to measure the productivity, agronomic value and the quality of semolera and pastera of the harvest in 7 localities of Andalusia.

b1.Realización de ensayos estadísticos de valor agronómico de diez variedades de trigo duro (3 repeticiones) en condiciones de secano y regadío para medir la productividad, valor agronómico y la calidad semolera y pastera de la cosecha en 7 localidades de Andalucía.

2 Practice Abstracts
Impact and relevance for the sector
Bearing in mind that the cooperatives associated in Agrovegetal market in their set about 200 thousand tons of durum wheat per year (one third of the Andalusian production total), it is expected that the realization of this work supposes that at least 20% of the (about 40 thousand tons per year) are harvested and classified as high yellow
and / or high quality gluten, which implies an added value of at least 10%, that is,around one million euros per year (€ 25 / t x 40,000 t). If this work serves as a model the rest of the durum wheat producing sector the impact could be multiplied by three or four.
In addition to the economic impact, the need to work in common to classify and market these items together, concentrating the offer and
supplying the stable Spanish industry with the durum wheat of the necessary quality to the making of pasta
Impacto y relevancia para el sector. Teniendo en cuenta que las cooperativas asociadas en el mercado Agrovegetal en su conjunto alrededor de 200 mil toneladas de trigo duro por año (un tercio del total de la producción andaluza), se espera que la realización de este trabajo suponga que al menos el 20% de la ( alrededor de 40 mil toneladas por año) se cosechan y clasifican como de alto color amarillo y / o gluten de alta calidad, lo que implica un valor añadido de al menos el 10%, es decir, alrededor de un millón de euros por año (€ 25 / t x 40,000 t).
Si este trabajo sirve como modelo para el resto del sector productor de trigo duro, el impacto podría multiplicarse por tres o cuatro.
Además del impacto económico, la necesidad de trabajar en común para clasificar y comercializar estos artículos juntos, concentrando la oferta y Suministrar a la industria española estable el trigo duro de la calidad necesaria para la elaboración de la pasta.
Expected results:
- Production of samples of ten varieties of durum wheat that represent the current average quality and quality that can be achieved with new varieties selected for their high quality semolera and pastera, in seven different environments of Andalusia each year. Five environments will be rainfed, representing medium management in the main producing areas, in trials conducted by Agrovegetal in collaboration with its associated Cooperatives, Campo de Tejada (Escacena), Coesagro (Ecija), San Dionisio (Jerez de la frontera), Cerealista de Conil and SAT Córdoba, and two environments will be irrigated in tests carried out by IFAPA in Santaella (Córdoba) and Lebrija (Seville).
- Analyze the productivity, resistance to diseases and pests, and especially the quality of the different varieties in the different environments as a previous step to the production of uniform batches of durum wheat with the ideal characteristics for the production of high quality pasta.
- Dissemination of the results through the AEI
- Dissemination of the results obtained in an information brochure and magazines specialized
- Production of uniform batches of high quality durum wheat from the varieties and managements that prove to be more efficient in each environment.
Resultados previstos:
- Producción de muestras de diez variedades de trigo duro que representan la calidad media actual y la calidad que se puede lograr con nuevas variedades seleccionadas por su semolera y pastera de alta calidad, en siete entornos diferentes de Andalucía cada año. Cinco ambientes serán de secano, representando la gestión media en las principales áreas productoras, en ensayos realizados por Agrovegetal en colaboración con sus Cooperativas asociadas, Campo de Tejada (Escacena), Coesagro (Écija), San Dionisio (Jerez de la frontera), Cerealista de Conil y SAT Córdoba, y dos ambientes serán regados en pruebas realizadas por IFAPA en Santaella (Córdoba) y Lebrija (Sevilla).
- Analizar la productividad, la resistencia a enfermedades y plagas, y especialmente la calidad de las diferentes variedades en los diferentes ambientes como paso previo a la producción de lotes uniformes de trigo duro con las características ideales para la producción de pastas de alta calidad.
- Difusión de los resultados a través del AEI.
- Difusión de los resultados obtenidos en un folleto informativo y revistas especializadas.
- Producción de lotes uniformes de trigo duro de alta calidad a partir de las variedades y gestiones que demuestran ser más eficientes en cada entorno.
