Support and development of the flagship projects that are part of the task force to test their models, evaluate them and draw lessons learned.
Two flagship projects have been developed:
- IGC led by Benaguasil (València, Spain): it focuses on citrus cultivation and it is the cooperative that groups the land (without change of ownership of the owner, a transfer contract is signed between the owner and the cooperative) These lands are managed by the cooperative itself or it seeks new partners who want to expand the farm and market through the framework of the cooperative.
- IGC Unió Nuts, from Reus (Catalonia, Spain): the project focuses on the cultivation of almond trees and there are three actors involved in the contract: the cooperative, the person who cultivates it and the owner. It is the cooperative that is in charge of finding the land, that is responsible for the implementation of the crop and that provides technical advice to the farmer on the farms. As economic results are obtained from successive harvests, these benefits are distributed in different proportions among the three actors in the project.
