Objectives

The proposed project raises the development of different tools that, in the current context of technification of the agricultural sector, improve the production and quality of the citrus and stone fruit farms.
To do this, numerical predictive models will be developed based on data from the farms and the external conditions, that are also monitored, which will allow to take decisions with enough anticipation to measure productivity and act to maximize it, increasing competitiveness and sustainability.

Objectives

El proyecto propuesto plantea el desarrollo de diferentes herramientas que, en el actual contexto de tecnificación del sector agrario, mejoren la producción y la calidad de las explotaciones de cítricos y fruta de hueso.
Para ello se desarrollarán modelos predictivos numéricos a partir de los datos provenientes de las propias explotaciones agrícolas y de las condiciones externas que igualmente se monitorean, los cuales permitirán adoptar decisiones con suficiente anticipación para medir la productividad y actuar para maximizarla, incrementando la competitividad y la sostenibilidad.

Activities

Predictive models development that allow the advance of fertigation actions optimizing productivity and helping producers to carry out activities to minimize the impact of phytosanitary products.
Incorporate new data sources that add analysis and modeling capacity.
Development of similarity criteria that helps extend the models to other farms where there is not enough data to generate their own models.
Creation of a map of productivity and evolution of harvest of the fruit varieties object of this project in Andalusia.

Activities

Desarrollo de modelos predictivos que permitan desarrollar actuaciones en fertirrigación que optimicen la productividad y que ayuden al productor a adelantar actuaciones para minimizar el impacto del uso de fitosanitarios.
Incorporar nuevas fuentes de datos que añadan capacidad de análisis y modelado.
Desarrollo de criterios de similitud que ayuden a extender los modelos a otras explotaciones donde no existan suficientes datos para generar modelos propios.
Creación de un mapa de productividad y evolución de cosecha de las variedades frutales objeto de este proyecto en Andalucía.

1 Practice Abstracts

The most widespread technologies in the fruit sector are those dedicated to online marketing, fertirrigation control systems, and data collection hardware. However, the development of modeling systems in agriculture is a space still little exploited, where farmers increasingly have more information and start to be overwhelmed without management tools that facilitate decision making from such a large amount of data.
The objective of this Operative Group is the application of decision tools for the Andalusian fruit sector, particularly citrus fruits and stone fruit, based on complex predictive models, artificial intelligence systems and the use of techniques that combine with the use of "Big" Data ", providing simulation and decision-making systems.
The development of models and predictive tools can be used in making critical decisions by helping to determine expected yields, when to collect, when to apply phytosanitaries, optimizing fertigation, what commercial strategy to follow, whether to ensure production or not and under what conditions.
The use of these models reduces risks, helps increase productivity, and does it by supporting the introduction of economic criteria and sustainability, which is why it is perfectly aligned with the growing needs of the agricultural sector in relation to the incorporation of innovative technologies.

Las tecnologías más extendidas en el sector frutícola son aquellas dedicadas a la comercialización online, sistemas de control de fertirrigación, y hardware de toma de datos. Sin embargo, el desarrollo de sistemas de modelado en agricultura es un espacio aún poco explotado, donde los agricultores cada vez disponen de más información y empiezan a verse desbordados sin herramientas de gestión que faciliten la toma de decisiones a partir de tal cantidad de datos e información.
El objetivo de este grupo operativo es la aplicación de herramientas de decisión para el sector frutícola andaluz, en particular cítricos y fruta de hueso, basadas en modelos predictivos complejos, sistemas de inteligencia artificial y el empleo de técnicas que combinan con el uso de “Big Data”, proporcionando sistemas de simulación y de toma de decisiones.
El desarrollo de modelos y herramientas predictivas se puede emplear en la toma de decisiones críticas al ayudar a determinar rendimientos esperados, cuándo recolectar, cuándo aplicar fitosanitarios, la optimización de la fertirrigación, qué estrategia comercial a seguir, si asegurar la producción o no y en qué condiciones.
El empleo de estos modelos reduce los riesgos, ayuda a incrementar la productividad, y lo hace soportando la introducción de criterios económicos y de sostenibilidad, por lo que se alinea perfectamente con las necesidades crecientes del sector agrario en relación a la incorporación de tecnologías novedosas.
