Objectives
The aim of the project is a supporting decision system for the grower to save time for controlling and to save resources of water and fertilizer. The result will be: Healthy plants that use less water, less fertilizer and less chemical agents with a positive effect for a sustainable environment.

Das Konsortium entwickelt ein Unterstützungssystem für Freilandtopfpflanzen, das automatisiert Daten (Feuchtigkeit, Temperatur, Salzgehalt) im Pflanzenbestand sammelt und verlässlich über größere Entfernungen zum elektronischen Endgerät des Gärtners leitet.
Activities
The international team of Nursery Stock Growing Support System wants to develop a sensor-supported control-system that measures different parameters on the field and at the plants and sends the values to the grower, presented on an app-based surface on his mobile or tablet. Conversant partners as Wageningen University and Research, the company Isis IC, the research centre of horticulture of the chamber of agriculture NRW and different horticulture companies cooperate with a lot of experience.
Activities
Die Daten geben dem Gärtner mittels einer grafischen Darstellung einen Überblick über den Feuchtigkeits- und Ernährungszustand seiner Pflanzen. Daraufhin entscheidet er über optionale Bewässerungs- und Düngungsmaßnahmen. Mit diesem System erhalten die hochspezialisierten Betriebe Unterstützung in der Bestandskontrolle, so dass mehrmalige Kontrollgänge pro Tag reduziert werden können. Durch die Sensorüberwachung finden Düngungs- und Bewässerungs-vorgänge zielgerichteter als derzeit statt, so dass mittelfristig mit Einsparungen der Ressourcen gerechnet wird.
Context
Die aktuell marktverfügbare Technik funktioniert nicht verlässlich und wird deshalb in Praxisbetrieben nicht verbaut. Die Kombination verfügbarer, aber noch nicht verknüpfter Funk- und Sensortechnik in Verbindung mit der grafischen Darstellung sind für die Betriebe, die in diesem Projekt am Entwicklungsprozess partizipieren, von höchster Bedeutung.
