Objectives

The European directive of the Clean Energy Package states that members of an energy community have the right to produce and store their own energy and to share this energy with each other or sell it on the energy market. This inspired farmers from the rural hamlet of Hal to work together with their neighbours in a local energy cooperative. The OG wants to accelerate the development of rural energy communities into active players on the energy market. It wants to do this by exploring and elaborating earning models concerning the marketing of self-produced energy in a pilot project, in accordance with the forthcoming Flemish legislation on 'Energy Communities' and the approved European directive.

Objectives

De Europese richtlijn van het Clean Energy Package stelt dat leden van een energiegemeenschap het recht hebben om zelf energie te produceren, op te slaan en deze energie te delen met elkaar of te verkopen op de energiemarkt. Dit inspireerde landbouwers uit het landelijk gehucht Hal om met hun buren samen te werken in een lokale energiecoöperatie. De OG wil de ontwikkeling van rurale energiegemeenschappen tot actieve spelers op de energiemarkt versnellen. Dit wil ze doen door verdienmodellen rond vermarkting van zelf geproduceerde energie te verkennen en uit te werken in een pilootproject, conform de op stapel staande Vlaamse wetgeving ‘Energiegemeenschappen’ en de goedgekeurde Europese richtlijn.

Activities

The partners in this operational group want to efficiently organise and equip the rural community of Hal so that, as an energy community, it can sell the self-produced green electricity of farmers and citizens on the (local) energy market. The energy management of the companies is analysed with the aim to apply innovative earning models around energy for the benefit of the collective profit. Farmers can thus not only generate a financial added value for their own company, but also a socio-economic and climate profit with their community.

Activities

De partners in deze operationele groep willen de plattelandsgemeenschap van Hal efficiënt organiseren en uitrusten zodat ze als energiegemeenschap de zelf geproduceerde groene stroom van boeren en burgers kan verkopen op de (lokale) energiemarkt. Het energiemanagement van de bedrijven wordt geanalyseerd met als doel innovatieve verdienmodellen rond energie toe te passen ten voordele van het collectief profijt. Landbouwers kunnen zo niet alleen een financiële meerwaarde genereren voor het eigen bedrijf, maar ook een socio-economische winst en klimaatwinst met hun leefgemeenschap.
