Context

Objectives

The general objective focuses on the application of a new combined system of protorreactor and vertical centrifuge that give rise to an ecological extra virgin olive oil with a high polyphenol content. This new combined system achieves a reduction in oil production time, in addition to significantly reducing energy and water consumption. In this way it will be possible to fine-tune a novel technology that not only provides a product with high added value, but also reduces the environmental impact directly affecting the costs associated with the production process.

1 Practice Abstracts

The expected results after the execution of the project are the following:

- At the end of activity 1 "Integration and assembly of the new production system for the production of organic extra virgin olive oil", it is expected to have fully installed the new production system consisting of a Protorreactor and a Vertical Separator, it will also be verified its operation. It is expected a correct contribution of the necessary supplies and controllers that allow their subsequent optimization according to the concrete production process that is intended to be developed. In addition to a first interpretation of the possible benefits that the use of this new equipment can provide.

- The expected results after the completion of activity 2 "Characterization and parameterization of the operation of the combined system of Protorreactor and Vertical Separator", are: The characterization of the working variables and ranges allowed in the Protorreactor; Characterization of the work variables and ranges allowed for the Vertical Separator; Design of a work plan with the conditions to be evaluated in the new combined system of Protorreactor and Vertical Separator in order to optimize this productive process.

- After the completion of activity 3 "Optimization of the combined production process of protorreactor and vertical separator", it is intended to have a fully defined work procedure that results in a product with the desired characteristics, that is, an extra virgin organic oil with high polyphenols content
