1 Practice Abstracts

The importance of plastics in everyday life is undeniable, especially in the packaging of a wide variety of products due to their low cost, lightness and versatility. However, its difficult recycling and its impact on the environment have generated an environmental crisis. An estimated 8 million tons of plastic are dumped into the oceans annually, and global plastic production continues to rise. In this context, innovation in sustainable packaging has become a crucial trend in the food industry. The Econewplas Operating Group focuses on improving sustainability through the development of recyclable or biodegradable packaging. This involves the use of eco-design techniques and sustainable monomaterials to increase recycling rates and reduce environmental impact, while ensuring proper food preservation.
