HELIXCONTROL is an innovation project for the implementation and validation of an application to promote the digitalisation of snail farms.

Currently, the heliciculture sector does not have any software or application on the market that allows the digitalization of snail farms. Therefore, it is a great innovation for the sector to have one that also helps improve different aspects: health, production and economic.

Principales resultados/resultados de la actividad (esperados o finales): La digitalización de todos los datos acumulados y su validación especializada permitirá que el software que se ponga en uso sea realmente útil para todos los usuarios. Asimismo, la creación de un software o una aplicación para un sector tan concreto como la Helicicultura puede ser también un buen ejemplo para otro tipo de producción agropecuarias pequeñas, en las que las grandes compañías de la gestión de datos no están interesadas y quedan lejos de poder digitalizarse al mismo ritmo que otros sectores ganaderos. - Principales recomendaciones prácticas: HELIXCONTROL como proyecto Innovador es una oportunidad para desarrollar productos innovadores que ayuden al control de diferentes ámbitos de la cría de los caracoles, como el microbiológico y la sanidad del animal son fundamentales en un sector como el de la Helicicultura que, además, no tiene acceso a medicamentos homologados para caracoles.
Main results/outcomes of the activity (expected or final): The digitalisation of all the accumulated data and its specialised validation will allow the software to be put into use to be really useful for all users. Likewise, the creation of software or an application for a sector as specific as Heliciculture can also be a good example for other types of small agricultural production, in which large data management companies are not interested and are far from being able to digitalise at the same pace as other livestock sectors. - Main practical recommendations: HELIXCONTROL as an innovative project is an opportunity to develop innovative products that help control different areas of snail farming, such as microbiology and animal health, which are essential in a sector such as Heliciculture, which also does not have access to approved medicines for snails.
Currently, the heliciculture sector does not have any specific software or application on the market that allows the digitalisation of snail farms. Therefore, it is a great innovation for the sector to have one that also helps to improve different aspects: health, production and economic. HELIXCONTROL will provide the sector with a specific application.
a) A specialized application will not only allow data to be collected faithfully to the type of production, but will also result in improvements for it. b) Standardizing production data in the different phases will promote not only better global knowledge of the situation of snail farms, but will also allow for
recommendations for future improvements. c) Improvements in snail farms will ensure their economic viability and will also improve the image for future producers. Ultimately, economic improvements will also be supported by savings in inputs, which leads to less environmental carbonization.
Actualmente el sector de la helicicultura no cuenta con ningún software o aplicación específico en el mercado que permita la digitalización de las granjas de caracoles. Por lo tanto, resulta una gran innovación para el sector poder contar con uno que, además, ayude a mejorar diferentes aspectos: sanitario, productivos y económicos. HELIXCONTROL dotará al sector de una aplicación específica.
a) Una aplicación especializada permitirá no solo recoger los datos de manera fiel al tipo de producción, sino que redundará en conseguir mejoras para la misma. b) Estandarizar los datos de producción en las diferentes fases promoverá no solo un mejor conocimiento global de la situación de las granjas de caracoles, sino también permitirá realizar
recomendaciones para conseguir mejoras futuras. c) Las mejoras en las granjas de caracoles conseguirán asegurar su viabilidad económica y mejorarán también la imagen para futuros productores. En definitava, las mejoras a nivel económico vendrán también refrendadas por el ahorro en insumos, lo que conlleva menos carbonización ambiental.
