The Wezenland district heat grid, heats 1,400 households in the Keizerslande and Borgele neighborhoods. Few options are available for making this district heat grid more sustainable because geothermal heat is excluded in this region. Nine dairy farmers from the outskirts of the city can produce and supply biogas locally through mono-manure fermentation, which will make sustainability possible and provide them with a better earnings model and a significant reduction in emissions of ammonia (nitrogen) and methane.
