Objectives
The breaking strength is an important quality feature of eggs, because it decisively determines the economic success of egg production. Empirical observations suggest that the replacement of conventional (inorganic) calcium feeding with organic calcium, such as calcium lactogluconate, can improve shell stability. The feeding takes place via the watering system.

Die Bruchfestigkeit ist ein bedeutendes Qualitätsmerkmal des Eies, weil diese maßgeblich über den wirtschaftlichen Erfolg der Eierproduktion entscheidet. Empirische Beobachtungen lassen erwarten, dass der Ersatz der herkömmlichen (anorganischen) Kalziumfütterung durch organisches Kalzium, wie z.B. Calciumlactogluconat eine Verbesserung der Schalenstabilität erbringen kann. Die Fütterung erfolgt hierbei über die Tränkanlage.
Activities
The project aims to assess the impact of organic Ca on shell stability in comparison to the conventional variant in a field and a station test. Additionally, the suitability of a compressed air impulse flushing, developed by Pfalz Tec GmbH, is tested for keeping the infusion system free of Ca-related deposits over the entire project period within the framework of the field test.
Activities
Im Projekt ist vorgesehen, die Wirkung von organischem Kalzium auf die Schalenstabilität bei Legehennen im Vergleich zur herkömmlichen Variante in einem Feld- und einem Stationsversuch zu prüfen. Zum anderen soll die Eignung einer, durch die Pfalz Tec GmbH entwickelten, Druckluft-Impulsspülung für das Freihalten der Tränkanlage von Kalzium-bedingten Ablagerungen über den gesamten Projektzeitraum im Rahmen des Feldversuchs getestet werden.
