Objectives

The fattening of the animals is uneconomical due to the poor feed conversion. Considerably increased ethical pressure on the part of consumers represents the situation in a different light: The animals should be fattened + have 'a life before death'. The aim is to identify further solutions to this problem as a supplement to the existing ones. The project will therefore investigate an optional adaptation of the nutrient combination taking into account company-owned feed. The focus is on both the economic benefits and, in particular, animal welfare. Finally, the current housing conditions on farms are to be monitored and reviewed in exchange with other farms within the framework of stable schools.
