Extensification of peak load around Natura2000
Extensivering van piekbelaster rondom Natura2000
Activities
• More land under dairy farms (including nature manager/arable farmer);
• Reduce animal excretion to max. 100 kg N/ha;
• Partial relocation of the holding, reducing herds on site with peak load from 255 dairy cows and associated young cattle to 88 dairy cows with young cattle;
• Reducing the density of LU peak load (less livestock and more land), we move from 7.8 LU/ha to 0,7 LU/ha by reducing livestock;
• Widen pasture peak-lowerer, we move from 720 hours to 1.500 hours of pasture, Boerbedrijf Bleijendijk already has extensive pasture from above 2.500 hours;
• Reduce nitrogen fertiliser use from 52 kg N/ha to 0;
• Work with Boerennature Brabant Midden to identify the parcels that need less fertilisation to convert to herbaceous vegetation;
• Conversion to organic farming through cooperation with organic arable farmers (for land, feed and manure) and organic dairy farmers (for knowledge exchange) from the region.
Activities
• Meer grond onder de melkveebedrijven (i.s.m. natuurbeheerder/akkerbouwer);
• Verlagen dierexcretie naar max. 100 kg N/ha;
• Gedeeltelijke verplaatsing bedrijf, waardoor veestapel op locatie met piekbelasting reduceert van 255 melkkoeien en bijbehorend jongvee naar 88 melkkoeien met jongvee;
• Reduceren van GVE-bezetting piekbelaster (minder vee en meer grond), wij gaan van 7.8 GVE/ha naar 0,7 GVE/ha door reduceren veestapel;
• Verruimen weidegang piekbelaster, wij gaan van 720 uur weidegang naar 1.500 uur weidegang, Boerderij Bleijendijk heeft al extensieve weidegang van boven de 2.500 uur;
• Gebruik stikstofkunstmest van 52 kg N/ha terugbrengen naar 0;
• In samenwerking met Boerennatuur Brabant Midden wordt gekeken welke percelen minder bemesting nodig hebben om om te schakelen naar een kruidenrijke vegetatie;
• Omschakelen naar biologische landbouw door samenwerking met biologische akkerbouwer (t.b.v. grond, voer en mest) en biologische melkveehouder (t.b.v. kennisuitwisseling) uit de regio.

1 Practice Abstracts
This project aims to establish a new cooperation between two dairy farms and a nature manager/arable farm with the aim of extensifying dairy farms in and around the Natura 2000 nitrogen-sensitive areas. Through this cooperation, we aim to drastically reduce nitrogen emissions from dairy farms by reducing livestock numbers and increasing the area of the holding. By addressing this through extensification of dairy farms, this project aims for a more sustainable and environmentally responsible future for both the agricultural sector and Natura 2000 areas.
Dit project beoogt een nieuwe samenwerking op te richten tussen twee melkveehouderijbedrijven en een natuurbeheerder/akkerbouwbedrijf met als doel de extensivering van melkveehouderijbedrijven in en rondom de stikstofgevoelige Natura 2000-gebieden. Door middel van deze samenwerking willen we de uitstoot van stikstof vanuit de melkveehouderijbedrijven drastisch verminderen door het verkleinen van de veestapel en verruimen van het bedrijfsareaal. Door dit aan te pakken middels het extensiveren van melkveehouderijbedrijven, streeft dit project naar een duurzamere en ecologisch verantwoorde toekomst voor zowel de landbouwsector als de Natura 2000-gebieden.
