Objectives

In 2020, Normandy faced a shortage of straw which resulted in additional costs for farmers. The use of shredded bocage wood in animal litter is of interest to breeders, but the available references exist only in a suckling system.
At the same time, the development of boiler rooms using bocage wood is leveling off and only makes it possible to recycle a limited part of the Norman bocage resource.
Hedges are poorly or poorly managed in Normandy, which contributes to their degradation.
The use of bocage platelets in BRF can help to raise the organic matter content of soils in areas where it is relatively low

Objectives

En 2020, la Normandie a fait face à une pénurie de paille ayant entraîné des surcoûts pour les éleveurs. L’utilisation du bois bocager déchiqueté en litière animale intéresse les éleveurs mais les références disponibles n’existent qu’en système allaitant.
En parallèle, le développement des chaufferies valorisant du bois bocager plafonne et ne permet de valoriser qu’une partie limitée de la ressource bocagère normande.
Les haies sont peu ou mal gérées en Normandie, ce qui contribue à leur dégradation.
L’utilisation de plaquettes bocagères en BRF peut permettre de relever le taux de matière organique des sols dans les secteurs où il est relativement bas
