Objectives
To environmentally validate the use of olive wastewater as a herbicide agent in non-cultivable areas, in order to achieve a sustainable management and valorization of these effluents
Objectives
Validar ambientalmente el empleo de las aguas residuales de aderezo de aceituna como agente herbicida en zonas no cultivables, con el fin de conseguir una gestión y valorización sostenible de estos efluentes.
Activities
Identification and conditioning of by-products: Study of the different fractions of waste effluents generated in the olive industry; Characterization of identified effluents; Conditioning and pretreatment of effluents; Analysis of the legislative framework.
Technical-environmental validation of the herbicidal power of the conditioned effluents: Development of herbicide product from the conditioned effluents; Characterization of the products obtained; Field application of the herbicide product developed; Environmental evaluation of the impact on the soil; Analysis of the residual solid fraction.

Reducción del impacto ambiental producido por la elevada toxicidad de los principios activos empleados en la mayoría de los herbicidas químicos comerciales
Nuevo producto herbicida a partir de los efluentes residuales de aderezo de aceituna
Cuantificación de la viabilidad técnica, medioambiental y económica de la valorización de las aguas de aderezo de aceituna mediante el desarrollo de un nuevo producto herbicida
La realización de este proyecto, y la implantación industrial de los resultados obtenidos, tendrá un enorme impacto socioeconómico, no solo para las empresas beneficiarias, sino también para todas las empresas pertenecientes a la industria de aderezo de aceituna, al sector forestal y al sector de los fitosanitarios, ya que la propuesta innovadora que se estudia en este proyecto puede aplicarse a cualquier de ellas.
