Objectives

Valuing second-choice wool through the production of WMS as a circular fertilizer and investigating application options in forestry, agriculture and horticulture to develop a sales market for this. In this way, the aim is to develop an alternative fertilizer with a net yield instead of a cost item for the sector and to prevent the wool from being sent to incineration.

Activities

Starting up the scale-up of wool processing and the production of second-choice wool as circular fertilizer (WMS) at the company location (purchasing and installing equipment, testing and test runs), setting up wool pre-sorting in collaboration with Hollands Wol Collectief (HWC), first test batch of WMS (different quality) for small-scale practical tests, scaling up to at least 40 tons of WMS/year and building up a substantial buffer. Setting up and carrying out practical tests in collaboration with experts, students, scientists and potential customers and investigate the effect on growth of different doses, administration frequencies, combinations, etc.
