Objectives
Claw and limb problems are among the most common causes of losses in dairy farming. The aim of this EIP projecht is to develop a management approach which, unlike lameness scoring, serves to prevent claw problems. Therefore, the established body condition scoring (assesment of body fat reserves) will be extended by the unit claw condition score (assessment of fat inside the claws). Combining these two approches will serve as an early warning system and can provide crucial information.
Objectives
Klauen- und Gliedmaßenprobleme zählen zu einer der häufigsten Abgangaursachen bei Milchkühen und stellen damit ein zentrales Problem in Milchviehherden dar. Ziel diese EIP-Projektes ist es, dem Landwirt, Klauenpfleger und bestandsbetreuenden Tierarzt einen neuen Managementansatz zur Hand zu geben, der im Gegeensatz zum Lahmheitsscoring der Prävention der Klauenerkrankungen dientHierzu soll das etablierte Body Condition Scoring (Beurteilung der Körperfettreserven) um die Einheit Claw Condition Scoring (Beurteilung des Fettpolsters der Klaue) erggänzt werden. Es dient als Frühwarnsystem und kann entscheidende Hinweise geben.
