The goal of the AI (Artificial intelligence) for stables project is to produce two mobile applications using machine learning that can be used to monitor the health of horses and the stable environment. The first application analyzes the normal soundscape of the stable and warns of sudden changes in the soundscape, as well as investigates the effect of roughage feeding on the horses' behavior. The application enables monitoring of horses, for example, cheaper than camera surveillance and with less work. Another application observes the sounds in the horse's intestines and identifies deviations in the sounds. The application enables daily monitoring of the situation at home and the transition from treatment of illness to preventive health care.The applications improve the well-being of the horses, reduce the stable keeper's workload, save costs and bring added value to the farmer who produces roughage.The project is implemented by the Suomen Hevostietokeskus ry and Savonia University of Applied Sciences. The project's innovation group includes a plant farm, horse stables, experts in horse care, well-being and health, as well as stable environment and technology.
