A DNA test that can detect fast (latent) bacterial infections in onions both in the field and in the harvested product.

Activities
The test was developed in 2014-2015 and tested in 2016 for Alternaria spp. in potatoes. This has shown that the principle works. In the project, a test is being developed for bacterial infections in onions. The test is then tested in the field with two arable farmers, co-applicants in this project.

De test is in 2014-2015 ontwikkeld en in 2016 getest voor Alternaria spp. in aardappelen. Hiermee is aangetoond dat het principe werkt. In het project wordt een test ontwikkeld voor bacteriële besmettingen in uien. De test wordt vervolgens in het veld getest bij twee akkerbouwers, mede-aanvragers in dit project.
Context
Het voorkomen van latente besmettingen met koprot in uien is erg belangrijk voor de teler. Deze test is een belangrijk managementinstrument voor akkerbouwers in de beheersing van koprot in uien omdat men al vroeg de juiste keuzes kan maken in het productieproces.
Additional comments
Een DNA test voor het aantonen van bacteriebesmetting in de aardappelen is verder ontwikkeld naar een test voor uien. Deze test voor het aantonen van (latente) bacteriebesmettingen in uien is gereed.
