Practice abstracts on bioeconomy

The BRANCHES Horizon 2020 project has been working since 2021 to synthesise, share and present existing best practices and research results from previous and ongoing European and national projects to promote the bioeconomy and rural development through new bio-based initiatives. The project also showcases success stories regarding forest and agricultural biomass supply chains.

Project coordinator Johanna Routa: “We have collected interesting new innovations, methods and research results compiled in practice abstracts that are transformed into short clear factsheets free to be downloaded from our website. Practice abstracts include new methods or innovations to reduce costs or improve supply chains efficiency that can be potentially replicated in countries that are working to support biomass use in circular bioeconomy. We are strengthening the sharing of information to allow the introduction of these methods within project partner countries, but also in other countries not involved in the project.”

You can download these practice abstracts here, such as a Polish case ‘From cereal straw to district heat’, a German case ‘News value chains from milk residues’ or a Finnish case ‘Manure-powered milk logistics’.
