Polar Magnets - Youth Participation Exchange

Summary

The project originates from the youth council of Kuusamo, Finland, which actively promotes youth participation in decision-making. Recognizing the need for international cooperation and learning, young representatives seek to connect with peers from other European countries with the aim of enhancing democratic youth engagement and fostering sustainable international networks among young activists. 
The project is designed for youth aged 15-25 working in youth councils and civic participation initiatives.

Objectives:

  • exchange knowledge on youth participation models and best practices in different European regions.
  • strengthen international networks for young civic actors.
  • enhance understanding of cultural and governance differences through direct interaction.

Activities:

  • Online pre-meetings
  • Study trip in August 2025, with visits to youth councils, city halls, and cultural sites.
  • Follow-up workshops to disseminate learnings and develop future collaboration ideas.
