The session will start with Maria del Mar Serrano Delgado from the University of Cordoba and Gianluca Brunori from the University of Pisa, who will both dive into the results and strategic roadmap tailored for rural areas. Their presentation will cover the significant outcomes of the DESIRA (Digitisation: Economic and Social Impacts in Rural Areas) project and outline the steps forward for enhancing digitalisation in rural regions.

The session will then move to its second segment, where participants will gain valuable insights as Yulia Barabanova, Policy Officer at the EU Policy Lab, Joint Research Centre (JRC), presents a pivotal study focused on the digital transition among farmers and rural communities. This presentation will shed light on the current trends, challenges and opportunities that digitalisation presents for the agricultural sector and rural stakeholders.

An interactive Q&A session moderated by Jan Dröge from the BCO Network Support Facility will follow.
