Objectives

The Project objective is the sex-sorting of bull semen, using innovative technology to obtain female or male progeny.

Objectives

Projekta mērķis ir buļļu spermas dzimum-šķirošana izmantojot inovatīvu tehnoloģiju sieviešu vai vīriešu kārtas pēcnācēju iegūšanai.

Activities

1. To investigate the connection of dielectric sex-linked potential of spermatozoa with sex-sorting effectivity (at different frequencies, in different media in micro-flow, controlled by computer vision).

2. Testing, obtained within the project, insemination ability of the sex-sorted spermatozoa and precision of sex-sorting accuracy in vivo upon artificial insemination of cows.

3. Testing, the fertilization ability of the sex-sorted spermatozoa obtained within the project, in vitro via fertilization of oocytes and cultivation of embryos subsequently in the laboratory.

Activities

1. Izpētīt dzimuma atšķirīgo spermatozoīdu dielektriskā potenciāla saistību ar dzimumšķirošanas efektivitāti (pie dažādām frekvencēm, dažādās vidēs mikroplūsmā datorredzes kontrolē);

2. Izmēģināt projekta ietvaros dzimumšķiroto spermu in vivo uz apaugļotspēju un dzimumšķirošanas precizitāti veicot govju mākslīgo apsēklošanu;

3. Izmēģināt projekta ietvaros dzimumšķiroto spermu oocītu apaugļošanai in vitro apaugļojot oocītus embriju kultivēšanai laboratorijā.
