1 Practice Abstracts

With the 'Omega' project (Development of Mixed Crops for Protein-rich, Gluten-Free Outlets), we want to develop a good perspective for scaling up lupin cultivation in the Netherlands and thus work towards a sustainable added value chain of protein-rich crops for human consumption. This requires research into resistant varieties and the application of new sustainable technologies such as mixed cultivation to reduce weed pressure and promote biodiversity, among other things. In addition, the project will involve chain development and chain activation through, among other things, prototype development.

Met het 'Omega' project (Ontwikkeling Mengteelten voor Eiwitrijke, Glutenvrije Afzetketens) willen we een goed perspectief ontwikkelen voor de opschaling van de lupineteelt in Nederland en zo toewerken naar een duurzame toegevoegde waardeketen van eiwitrijke gewassen voor humane consumptie. Daarvoor is onderzoek nodig naar resistente rassen en het toepassen van nieuwe duurzame technologieën zoals mengteelten om onder andere onkruiddruk te verlagen en biodiversiteit te bevorderen. Daarnaast zal in het project ketenontwikkeling en ketenactivatie plaatsvinden door onder meer prototype ontwikkeling.
