Objectives

Develop an optical sensor that measures chlorophyll fluorescence at foliage level in the event of a change in incoming light, typically caused by lighting systems in greenhouse environment. It allows us to identify stress caused by light and other abiotic (non-living) factors, such as drought and salt. The technique should also be able to be used for early detection of biotic stress, ie stress that is due to stress within the plant, caused by pests or disease infestations.

Objectives

Ta fram en optisk sensor som mäter klorofyllfluorescens på bladverksnivå vid en förändring i inkommande ljus, typiskt framkallad av belysningssystem i växthusmiljö. Det möjliggör att man kan identifiera stress orsakad av ljus och andra abiotiska (icke levande) faktorer, såsom torka och salt. Tekniken bör även kunna användas för tidig upptäckt av biotisk stress, alltså stress som beror på stress inom växten orsakad av skadedjur eller sjukdomsangrepp.

Activities

The project mainly consists of three work packages: (1) Project administration; (2) Testing, evaluation and further development of method; (3) Sensor development. Work packages (2) and (3) in turn consist of a number of major activities, which are described in a separate work package description that can easily be linked to the budget.

Projektet består i huvudsak av tre arbetspaket: (1) Projektadministration; (2) Testning, utvärdering och vidareutveckling av metod; (3) Sensorutveckling. Arbetspaket (2) och (3) består i sin tur av en rad större aktiviteter, vilka står beskrivna i en separat arbetspaketsbeskrivning som enkelt kan kopplas till budgeten.
