Context

Consumer interest in organic farming products is growing significantly in Catalonia and worldwide, as shown by the organic production data of recent years. In this context of strong growth in production and demand, Catalan producers must adopt strategic measures to gain market share in a highly competitive sector, which should focus on developing products with high added value (e.g. with high nutritional value) and on improving the sustainability of the production system.
The project aims to use surplus native varieties of legumes from organic farming to produce new products with high added value.

Objectives

The main objective is the development of innovative products based on surplus native legume varieties from organic farming. The project has as secondary objectives: reduce waste, promote the use of native varieties and add value to agricultural production.

El principal objetivo es el desarrollo de productos innovadores a base de excedentes de variedades autóctonas de legumbres procedentes de la agricultura ecológica. El proyecto tiene como objetivos secundarios: reducir el desperdicio, potenciar el uso de variedades autóctonas y añadir valor a las producciones agrícolas.
