Objectives

Reference, adapt and disseminate within the three Norman vegetable production basins (Val de Saire, West Coast, Mont Saint-Michel) with 400 producers on 6,500 ha, 3,000 direct jobs, new working practices, and soil management allowing to adapt to the problems of erosion and soil compaction. These phenomena are observed in these areas, threatening the sustainability of the systems and contributing to the degradation of the environment, while impacting crop yield and quality.

Référencer, adapter et diffuser au sein des trois bassins de production légumiers normands (Val de Saire, Cote ouest, Mont Saint-Michel) comptant 400 producteurs sur 6.500 ha, 3.000 emplois directs, de nouvelles pratiques de travail, et de gestion des sols permettant de s’adapter face aux problématiques d’érosion et de compaction du sol. Ces phénomènes sont observés sur ces zones, menaçant la durabilité des systèmes et contribuant à la dégradation de l’environnement, tout en impactant le rendement et la qualité des cultures.

1 Practice Abstracts

Reference, adapt and disseminate within the three Norman vegetable production basins (Val de Saire, West Coast, Mont Saint-Michel) with 400 producers on 6,500 ha, 3,000 direct jobs, new working practices, and soil management allowing to adapt to the problems of erosion and soil compaction. These phenomena are observed in these areas, threatening the sustainability of the systems and contributing to the degradation of the environment, while impacting crop yield and quality. The recommendations will focus on three aspects:
- Management of organic matter: type of amendments, dose, frequency, date of input, information on long-term effects, changes in organic matter content and soil structure
- Reasoning of the tillage: type of tools, adjustment, reasoning on the passages, information on the effects in the short, medium and long term on the use of new practices
- Maximum soil cover: varieties of cover, date and method of sowing density, methods of destroying cutlery, expected long-term effects of integration of intercrop cover in rotation on soil quality

Les préconisations porteront sur trois volets :
- Gestion de la matière organique : type d’amendements, dose, fréquence, date des apports, information sur les effets à long terme, évolution du taux de matière organique et structure du sol
- Raisonnement du travail du sol : type d’outils, réglage, raisonnement sur les passages, information sur les effets à court, moyen et long terme sur l’utilisation de nouvelles pratiques
- Couverture maximale du sol : variétés de couverts, date et mode densité de semis, modalités de destruction des couverts, effets attendus à long terme d’intégration de couverts d’intercultures dans la rotation sur la qualité du sol
