Activities

Fieldlab Place De Kleine Aarde, located on the southern sandy soils in Brabant, aims to produce food, vital for humans and earth, and make it accessible to all. We make this mission a reality by travelling with farmers, citizens and the system and achieving the territorial goals. Together with the project partners and a number of relevant stakeholders, we will come to a final design of the Fieldlab.


Activities

Fieldlab Plaats De Kleine Aarde, gesitueerd op de zuidelijke zandgronden in Brabant, wil voedsel, vitaal voor mens en aarde, produceren en bereikbaar maken voor iedereen. We maken deze missie werkelijkheid door samen met boeren, burgers en het systeem op reis te gaan en de gebiedsdoelen te halen. Samen met de projectpartners en een aantal relevante stakeholders komen we tot een definitief ontwerp van de fieldlab.

1 Practice Abstracts

In addition to the effort to achieve the area goals, we believe it is essential to involve the social and economic domain in addition to the ecological system (area goals), in order to achieve a necessary transition of the food system. Our approach is based on the three pillars of nature-driven, socially connected and economically supported. This requires involving the entire food system; To achieve the area goals, we look for solutions where farmer, citizen and system meet again and work together. During the design phase, we investigate how Fieldlab Ruimte De Kleine Aarde can concretely contribute to the farmers' perspective plan.
By focusing on the soil, farmer and citizen, we at Herenboeren have experienced that we can realize real improvements to the ecosystem. Based on these experiences, we follow the approach below.

1. The Farmer's Journey: Producing Vital Food Kitchen table discussions with 10 local farmers, 1-2 workshops with a group of farmers. Defining opportunities for mutual cooperation, establishing frameworks and preconditions for the farmer. 2. Citizen's Journey: Consume vital food Conversations with (groups of) citizens, define opportunities and common needs, arrive at frameworks and preconditions for the citizen. Draw up a joint citizen manifesto. 3. Journey of the system: facilitating vital food accessible to everyone Involve stakeholders and research and develop conscious contracting as a method. A multi-day multi-stakeholder conference approach, which leads to strategies in which farmer, citizen and system work together to achieve the area goals. And also to a group of stakeholders who are intrinsically motivated to contribute to the development and realization of our Field Lab.

Naast de inspanning om de gebiedsdoelen te halen, is het volgens ons essentieel om naast het ecologische systeem ook het sociale en economische domein te betrekken, om te komen tot een noodzakelijke transitie van het voedselsysteem. Onze aanpak is: natuurgedreven, sociaal verbonden en economisch gedragen. Dit vraagt om het gehele voedselsysteem te betrekken; voor het realiseren van de gebiedsdoelen zoeken we naar oplossingen waar boer, burger en systeem elkaar ontmoeten en samenwerken. We onderzoeken hoe Fieldlab Plaats De Kleine Aarde invulling kan geven aan plan boerenperspectief.

Door het centraal zetten van bodem, boer en burger, hebben we bij Herenboeren ervaren dat wij daadwerkelijke verbeteringen aan het ecosysteem kunnen realiseren. Op basis van deze ervaringen volgen we de onderstaande aanpak door de volgende drie sporen te volgen, onderdelen in samenhang met elkaar uit te werken:

1. Reis van de boer: vitaal voedsel produceren. Keukentafelgesprekken met 10 lokale boeren, 1-2 workshops met een groepje boeren. Definiëren van kansen voor samenwerking, komen tot kaders en randvoorwaarden.

2. Reis van de burger: vitaal voedsel consumeren.Gesprekken met (groepen) burgers, definiëren kansen en gemeenschappelijke behoeften, komen tot kaders en randvoorwaarden voor de burger. Gezamenlijk manifest van de burger opstellen.

3. Reis van het systeem: vitaal voedsel voor iedereen bereikbaar faciliteren. Betrekken stakeholders en onderzoeken en uitwerken van conscious contracting als methode. Een meerdaagse multistakeholder conferentieaanpak, die leidt tot strategieën waar boer, burger en systeem gezamenlijk werken aan de realisatie van de gebiedsdoelen.
