Boerderij van de Toekomst Zuidwest
Activities
Developing the Regional Forestry of the Future South West, working towards a future-proof agricultural sector in the South-West Delta. Challenges such as climate adaptation, salinisation, biodiversity, minerals, demand for bio-based raw materials, societal challenges and economic perspectives are identified together with regional and rural stakeholders. On this basis, appropriate (system) solutions shall be developed, tested and demonstrated. This takes place in particular at the Rusthoeve research sites in Colijnspallate and the WUR site in Westmaas, complemented by activities on innovative field companies in the region. This involves cooperation with regional and national authorities, knowledge stakeholders, suppliers, customers and civil society organisations. The Fieldlab also links with existing activities and initiatives in the region. The Forestry of the Future Southwest is strongly linked to the other regional farms of the Future, creating a wide network where the farming systems of the future are designed, tested and demonstrated from the regional context.
Activities
Het ontwikkelen van de regionale Boerderij van de Toekomst Zuid West waarbij gewerkt wordt aan een toekomstbestendige landbouwsector in de Zuidwestelijke Delta. Samen met regionale en landelijke stakeholders worden opgaven geïdentificeerd, zoals klimaatadaptatie, verzilting, biodiversiteit, mineralen, behoefte aan biobased grondstoffen, maatschappelijke opgaven en economisch perspectief. Op basis daarvan worden passende (systeem)oplossingsrichtingen ontwikkeld, getest en gedemonstreerd. Dat vindt met name plaats op de onderzoekslocaties Rusthoeve in Colijnsplaat en de WUR locatie in Westmaas, aangevuld met activiteiten op innovatieve praktijkbedrijven in de regio. Daarbij wordt samenwerkt met regionale en landelijke overheden, kennispartijen, toeleveranciers, afnemers en maatschappelijke organisaties. In het Fieldlab worden ook verbindingen gemaakt met bestaande activiteiten en initiatieven in de regio. De Boerderij van de Toekomst Zuidwest is sterk verbonden met de andere regionale Boerderijen van de Toekomst, zodat er een breed netwerk ontstaat waar de landbouwsystemen van de toekomst vanuit de regionale context ontworpen, getest en gedemonstreerd worden.

1 Practice Abstracts
Developing the regional Farm of the Future South West, working on a future-proof agricultural sector in the South-Western Delta. Tasks are identified together with regional and national stakeholders, such as climate adaptation, salinization, biodiversity, social tasks and economic perspective. On this basis, appropriate (system) solutions are developed, tested and demonstrated. This mainly takes place at the Rusthoeve in Colijnsplaat and the Wageningen Research location in Westmaas, supplemented with activities at innovative practical companies in the region. This involves collaboration with regional and national authorities, knowledge parties, suppliers, customers and social organizations. The Field Lab also makes connections with existing activities and initiatives in the region. The Farm of the Future Southwest is strongly connected to the other regional Farms of the Future, creating a broad network where the agricultural systems of the future are designed, tested and demonstrated from the regional context.
