Objectives
The aim is to test a soil scanner with regard to its applicability for nitrogen fertilization. The results shall clarify whether this method can help saving fertilizer amounts, avoiding nutrient surpluses, and, consequently, inducing ecosystem benefits. It will also be possible to draw conclusions about the method´s impact on the yield and quality of crops.
Objectives
Activities
By means of the soil scanner, zones of identical or similar soil type can be identified in the field. This allows optimization of Nmin sampling and inclusion of site-specific yield potentials into the N balance. This way, the available amounts of N fertilizer can be optimally applied in field and, simultaneously, overfertilization of inferior sites as well as underfertilization of superior sites will be avoided.
Activities
