The final report of the first Preparatory Action on Smart Rural Areas in the 21st century, commonly called SMART RURAL 21, has been published.

The final report of the first Preparatory Action on SMART RURAL 21 is now available.
It is the result of the joint studies between E40 (Project Coordinator), IfLS (Germany), empirica (Germany), eConcepts/ eTownz (Ireland), Innovatiesteunpunt / Boerenbond (Belgium) and Agricultural University of Athens (Greece).
The objective of the first Preparatory Action on Smart Rural Areas in the 21st century was to implement the Smart Villages definition and to test the implementation of smart village strategies in practice.
The report, based on the local experience of 21 villages across Europe, provides important insights as to how to support rural communities in developing Smart Village Strategies.
