Testing grant delivery of woodland management for biodiversity in England, UK
This evaluation assessed the effects of Woodland Improvement Grant management on woodland birds and habitat structure in the East Midlands of England. By comparing baseline surveys conducted between 2010 and 2012 with repeat surveys undertaken in 2019, the evaluation found more positive changes in target bird species on grant-supported sites than on comparable non-grant sites.

Agri-environment scheme contribution to ecological connectivity in England, 2014-2020 RDP
This 2020 report examined how agri-environment scheme (AES) options contribute to ecological connectivity across habitat networks in England during the 2014-2022 Rural Development Programme (RDP). The national-scale modelling suggested that habitat restoration, creation and maintenance measures support both structural and functional connectivity, although impacts vary by habitat and species group.
