Objectives
With this project we are developing a knowledge base and working method for the large-scale application of innovations to increase the freshwater availability in the subsurface at Schouwen-Duiveland. The aim of the project is to translate knowledge from various pilots for increasing freshwater in the subsurface that have been developed in research projects in Zeeland (GO-FRESH and Proeftuin Zeeland) and other locations in the Netherlands (Spaarwater, COASTAR) into practical methods and techniques that suit the specific conditions of Schouwen-Duiveland and comparable situations in Zeeland.

Objectives
Met dit project ontwikkelen we een kennisbasis en werkwijze voor grootschalige toepassing van innovaties voor het vergroten van de zoetwaterbeschikbaarheid in de ondergrond op Schouwen-Duiveland. Het doel van het project is om kennis uit verschillende pilots voor het vergroten van zoetwater in de ondergrond die ontwikkeld zijn in onderzoeksprojecten in Zeeland (GO-FRESH en Proeftuin Zeeland) en andere locaties in Nederland (Spaarwater, COASTAR) te vertalen naar praktijkrijpe methoden en technieken die passen bij de specifieke condities van Schouwen- Duiveland en vergelijkbare situaties in Zeeland.

Activities
By setting up a partnership of the parties involved in the entire innovation chain – of geohydrological experts, consultants, licensing authorities, implementers and agricultural entrepreneurs – the project is able to translate high-quality expertise and knowledge into practical application. The result is that the knowledge developed from various pilots and research programs is translated into standards, guidelines, protocols and methods that enable agricultural consultancy firms to prepare independent farm advice.
Activities
Door een samenwerkingsverband op te zetten van de betrokken partijen in de hele innovatieketen – van geohydrologische experts, adviseurs, vergunningverleners, uitvoerders en agrarischeondernemers – is het project in staat om hoogwaardige expertise en kennis te vertalen naar praktische toepassing. Het resultaat is dat de ontwikkelde kennis uit verschillende pilots en onderzoeksprogramma’s wordt vertaald naar standaarden, richtlijnen, protocollen en methoden waarmee agrarische adviesbureaus in staat worden gesteld zelfstandig bedrijfsadviezen op te stellen.
Contexte
De landbouw op Schouwen-Duiveland is voor zoetwater geheel afhankelijk van het beschikbare regenwater en grondwater. Door toenemende droge zomers staat de landbouw onder druk. Veel agrarisch ondernemers hebben aangegeven te willen investeren in maatregelen om zoetwater vast te houden en (ondergronds) te bergen. Hoewel de oplossingen voor het vergroten van zoetwater in de ondergrond op basis van verschillende pilots positieve resultaten hebben getoond, zijn de oplossingen nog niet klaar voor grootschalige toepassing. Dit komt omdat de kennis uit de pilots nog niet is vertaald naar toepassing onder de specifieke bodem, (grond)water en bedrijfseconomische condities van de landschapstypen van Schouwen-Duiveland.
