Objectives
"The Roots of Tomorrow" project consists of the creation of stratefy and management video game on agroecology for players in the agricultural world and the general public. The game aims to raise awareness of the need for an agricultural transition by showing that the agricultural professions are at the heart of the ecological transition.
The main added value for end users ( farmers) is to be able to use the game to experiment. They can then be inspired by the consequences of their actions ( results) in order to make the necessary choices within their own farm.
Objectives
Le projet « Roots of Tomorrow » consiste à la création d’un jeu vidéo de stratégie et de management sur l’agroécologie à destination des acteurs du monde agricole et du grand public. Le jeu a pour but de sensibiliser à la nécessité d’une transition agricole en montrant que les métiers de l’agriculture sont au cœur de la transition écologique.
La principale plus value apportée aux utilisateurs finaux (agriculteurs) est de pouvoir se servir du jeu pour expérimenter. Ils pourront ensuite s’inspirer des conséquences de leurs actions (résultats) afin de faire les choix qui s’imposent au sein de leur propre exploitation.

1 Practice Abstracts
The different phases planned in the project are broken down into several stages:
- Production of the video game scenario " Normandy/milk": Design, graphics, development.
- Normandy general public deployment: targeted advertising, regional press.
- Deployment of the agricultural world in Normandy: Technical days with Norman farmers, agricultural fairs and forums, professionnal social networks.
- Deployment of agricultural education: classroom interventions, webinar.
- Challenge ( launch event).
Information about the game: it will be built with a scenario reproducing the territory of the Normandy region with all its characteristics and focused on the production of milk.
Within the game, a farmer has the opportunity to make different choices ( environmental, economic, social, health) which will have an impact on the farm, but above all to make mistakes and start over.
A "serious game" module is also planned, which will serve as an educational tool for agricultural education.
Les différentes phases prévues dans le projet se déclinent par plusieurs étapes :
- Production du scénario “Normandie/lait” du jeu vidéo : Conception, graphismes, développement
- Déploiement grand public Normandie : publicité ciblée, presse régionale
- Déploiement monde agricole Normandie : Journées techniques avec agriculteurs normands, salons et forums agricoles, réseaux sociaux professionnels
- Déploiement enseignement agricole : interventions en classe, webinaire
- Challenge (événement de lancement)
Informations sur le jeu : il sera construit avec un scénario reproduisant le territoire de la région Normandie avec toutes ses caractéristiques et axé autour de la production de lait.
Au sein du jeu, un agriculteur a la possibilité de faire différents choix (environnementaux, économiques, sociaux, sanitaires) qui auront un impact sur l’exploitation, mais surtout de se tromper, et de recommencer.
Un module “serious game” est également prévu, qui servira d’outil pédagogique pour l’enseignement agricole.
