Natuurinclusieve landbouw in Oostkapelle
Objectives
Two biologically dynamic farms in Oostkapelle want to make the knowledge gained about a nature-inclusive agricultural system ready for practice. In addition to only the vegetable production in this cultivation system, we also want to integrate the animal side of the mixed management into this system. Existing knowledge is further deepened and disseminated.
Objectives
Twee biologisch dynamische landbouwbedrijven in Oostkapelle willen opgedane kennis over een natuurinclusief landbouwsysteem praktijkrijp maken. Naast enkel de plantaardige productie in dit teeltsysteem, willen wij ook de dierlijke kant van de gemengde bedrijfsvoering in dit systeem integreren. Bestaande kennis wordt verder uitgediept en uitgedragen.
Activities
The existing knowledge about nature-inclusive agriculture and strip cultivation is further deepened through monitoring. Both above and below ground diversity is mapped, but the effects of the cultivation system on the presence of breeding and winter birds are also studied. Based on the data from the monitoring, the following are:
1.Demonstrate the economic feasibility of a farm-level strip cultivation system
2. Quantify the ecosystem service of crop differentiation and legumes through strip cultivation, as well as explicitly map the nitrogen efficiency of the system
Activities
De bestaande kennis rond natuurinclusieve Landbouw en strokenteelt wordt verder verdiept door monitoring. Zowel de boven- en ondergrondse diversiteit wordt in kaart gebracht, maar ook effecten van het teeltsysteem op de aanwezigheid van broed- en wintervogels wordt bestudeerd. Op basis van de gegevens van de monitoring, worden:
- De economische haalbaarheid van een strokenteeltsysteem op bedrijfsniveau aantonen
- De eco-systeemdienst van gewasdifferentiatie en vlinderbloemigen door strokenteelt kwantificeren, alsook de stikstof efficiëntie van het systeem uitdrukkelijk in kaart brengen
Contexte
De percelen in het huidige landbouwsysteem worden steeds groter. Door onder andere het toepassen van een strokenteeltsysteem kan niet alleen de biodiversiteit en de leefomgeving versterkt worden, ook kan efficiënter worden omgegaan met hulpbronnen en grondstoffen en kunnen de productierisico’s verbonden aan grotere percelen met een enkel gewas worden verminderd.
