Objectives
The aim of the OG is to bring together ongoing initiatives regarding chickpeas, to publicise them in order to further expand the group of farmers and to work together on chain development by exchanging experience, success stories, but also by discussing and addressing potential challenges and problems together. Through a growers' network, interested farmers, both conventional and organic, are supported, so that chickpeas can gain a foothold on Flemish soil.
Objectives
Het doel van de OG is om lopende initiatieven rond kikkererwten te bundelen, er ruchtbaarheid aan te geven om de groep van landbouwers verder uit te breiden en samen aan ketenontwikkeling te werken door uitwisseling van ervaring, succesverhalen, maar evenzeer door mogelijke uitdagingen en problemen te bespreken en samen aan te pakken. Via een telersnetwerk worden geïnteresseerde landbouwers, zowel gangbare als biologische, op weg geholpen, zodat kikkererwten voet aan de Vlaamse grond krijgen.
Activities
The research partners and "pioneers" set up field trials to address inoculation, variety differences and weed control challenges with the aim of optimising the yield and quality of the product. The new knowledge is exchanged with the "early adopters" in the OG, who can then set to work themselves. By means of 4 workshops, all stakeholders will be informed about the themes: cultivation technique, processing industry, post-harvest technology and profitability of the chain. The research partners have a supporting role in this OG and are responsible for the organisation of demonstration moments, advice, quality and cost-benefit analyses.
Activities
De onderzoekpartners en "pioniers" stellen praktijkproeven op om uitdagingen op vlak van inoculatie, rasverschillen en onkruidbestrijding aan te pakken met het doel om de opbrengst en de kwaliteit van het product te optimaliseren. De nieuwe kennis wordt uitgewisseld met de "early adopters" in de OG, die vervolgens zelf aan de slag kunnen gaan. Aan de hand van 4 workshops worden alle stakeholders geïnformeerd omtrent de thema's: teelttechniek, verwerkende industrie, na-oogsttechnologie en rendabiliteit van de keten. De onderzoekpartners hebben in dit OG een ondersteunende rol en staan in voor de organisatie van de demonstratiemomenten, adviezen, kwaliteit- en kosten-batenanalyses.
