Activities
Dutch livestock farming is currently at the centre of public attention. The sector is expected to make a very important effort to reduce ammonia (nitrogen) and methane emissions (see inter alia the concept of the Agriculture Agreement), while emission reduction (RAV) housing systems are under threat in terms of their effectiveness. Policy orientation is increasingly seen as a way forward. The Fieldlab is being set up to design the Fieldlab as a platform for exploring, developing and demonstrating the potential for targeting and analysing the effectiveness of housing systems for naturally ventilated stables for ruminants (in particular dairy cows and dairy goats). The Fieldlab ‘does’ is set up specifically for the Eemland region. This region is an important area where emission reductions need to be achieved. In Fieldlab ‘do’, representative livestock farmers, Stichting I-VEE, Advice ID and Wageningen University cooperate.
Activities
De Nederlandse veehouderij staat momenteel in het middelpunt van de publieke aandacht. De sector wordt geacht (zie o.a. concept Landbouwakkoord) een zeer belangrijke inspanning te verrichten voor de vermindering van emissies van ammoniak (stikstof) en methaan, terwijl emissiereducerende (RAV-)stalsystemen juist liggen onder vuur voor wat betreft hun effectiviteit. Beleidsmatig wordt doelsturing in toenemende mate gezien als weg voorwaarts. Het fieldlab ‘DOES’ wordt opgezet om te komen tot een ontwerp van het fieldlab als platform voor verkenning, ontwikkeling en demonstratie van de potentie van doelsturing en analyse & verbetering van de effectiviteit van stalsystemen voor natuurlijk geventileerde stallen voor herkauwers (m.n. melkkoeien en melkgeiten). Het fieldlab ‘DOES’ wordt specifiek voor de regio Eemland opgezet. Deze regio is een belangrijk gebied waar emissiereducties gerealiseerd moeten worden. In fieldlab ‘DOES’ wordt samengewerkt door representatieve veehouders, Stichting I-VEE, Advies-ID en Wageningen University.

1 Practice Abstracts
