Objectives

The aim of the project is to develop two software tools to improve the quality of grass silage. This is intended to allow a direct adaptation of the process sequences of ensiling as well as improvement of the grassland. The first tool will be able to predict the time for achievement of optimal dry matter content for a defined area of the field after mowing to create conditions suitable for ensiling. The second tool will be capable of predicting the future silage quality at an early stage of conservation. The innovative solution approach is that a standardized software prognostic tool enables the farmer to exploit unused optimization potential of the grassland during the current management year.

Objectives

Ziel des Projektes ist die Entwicklung von dynamischen Softwareprognosetools gemeinsam mit Praxisbetrieben. Damit soll eine unmittelbare Anpassung der Verfahrensabläufe der Grassilierung, eine Verbesserung der Grünlandaufwüchse und der Silagequalität in der laufenden Vegetationsperiode ermöglicht werden. Der innovative Lösungsansatz besteht darin, dass diese Tools den Landwirt in die Lage versetzt, nicht genutztes Optimierungspotential bezüglich der Silagequalität im Grünland und im Silo im laufenden Wirtschaftsjahr auszuschöpfen, dadurch die Futterkosten für die Milchviehhaltung zu reduzieren und die Wirtschaftlichkeit der Betriebe zu erhöhen.
