Context

Directly and through the farmers associations Lithuanian farmers had applied to the scientists asking how to reduce the inputs and production costs. One of the main problem that are facing the livestock farms is how to balance the production costs, high level of productivity and production quality remaining the farm competitive. Dairy farms are depending on milk buying prices. The question was how to balance the costs of dairy production ensuring the high level of productivity and quality. How to ensure the quality between forage and feeding process also decreasing the productiobn costs? How to create and control the whole feeding and production process having got the possibility to plan the high milk productivity and quality level samely having got lower feeding costs? How to change the concentrated feed additives into the cheaper but equally valuable ones same decreasing the production costs and increasing the production benefit and the farm competitiveness.According to the raised questions this project should find the solutions how to get higher quality using lower costs because the quality itself can influence the price rising and balanced production costs will increase the profit.

Objectives

The usage of innovations for milk and meat livestock productivity improvement in farms by reducing costs and inputs also improving the quality of production itself.

Objectives

Šėrimo inovacijų naudojimas pieno ir mėsos galvijų produktyvumo didinimui ūkiuose, mažinant gamybos sanaudas ir produkcijos savikainą bei gerinant pačią gaminamos produkcijos kokybę.

Activities

Main project activities: 1) Coordination and administration of project activities; 2) Analysing the situation of livestock farms' competitiveness and need of innovations; 3) Cultivation of herbal forage additives, establishing their chemical composition and microbiological contamination. Preparing, creating new forage mixtures and setting the dosage; 4) Creating  rations; 5) Testing feedings. 6) Exploring the quality of milk and meat producion; 7) Researching the livestock wellness and reproduction features; 8) Evaluating the economic efficiency of innovations and possibilities for their practical appliances; 9) EIP group members' partnership and publicity of their activities.

Activities

Pagrindinės projekto veiklos: 1) Projekto veiklų koordinavimas ir administravimas; 2) Galvijų ūkių konkurencingumo ir inovacijų poreikių analizė; 3) Augalinių pašarų priedų auginimas, jų cheminės sudėties ir mikrobiologinės taršos nustatymas, paruošimas, mišinių sudarymas ir dozavimas; 4) Racionų sudarymas; 5) Šėrimo bandymai pagal parengtą metodiką; 6) Pieno ir mėsos kokybės tyrimai pagal parengtą metodiką; 7) Gyvulių sveikatingumo ir reprodukcinių savybių tyrimai; 8) Inovacijų ekonominio efektyvumo ir plataus inovecijų pritaikymo galimybių vertinimas; 9) EIP veiklos grupių bendradarbiavimas ir veiklos viešinimas.

1 Practice Abstracts

Results after the project implementation: 1) The cow productivity will increase at about 10 percent having the same level of production costs or the production costs will decrease at about 10 percent having got the same level of productivity; 2) Expected the meat livestock quality improvement having increased the value at about 10 percent; 3) Sprouts have got a lot of biologically active substances which are easily used by animal bodies and having changed the part of concentrated forages into the biologically active sprouts or their mixtures it would be get the higher quality of milk and meat production; 4) Finally it will be prepared the new recommendations for feeding process and technologies or implementations of some elements that are promoting the use of the existing, potential  productivity increasing and competitiveness. It would be suitable for practical usage and publicly available for potential consumers; 5) During the process it would be implementing the new feeding technologies by reducing the costs. After researches it would be prepared the most effective feeding rations and would be balanced with the production quality that has been obtained from livestock.

Projekto pritaikymo rezultatai: 1) Karvių produktyvumas bus padidintas 10 procentų esant tam pačiam gamybos kaštų lygiui arba 10 procentų sumažės gamybos kaštai esant tam pačiam produktyvumui; 2) Laukiamas mėsinių galvijų kokybės pagerinimas padidinant vertę bent 10 procentų; 3) Kadangi želmenyse yra daug biologiškai aktyvių medžiagų, kurios lengviau pasisavinamos gyvulio organizmo, o dalį koncentruotų pašarų pakeitus biologiškai aktyviais želmenimis ar jų mišiniais, bus gaunama kokybiškesnė mėsos ir pieno produkcija; 4) šio projekto rezultate bus parengtos naujos galvijų šėrimo procesų ir technologijų bei jų elementų diegimo rekomendacijos, skatinančios išnaudoti esamą potencialą, didinant gamybos sektoriaus našumą ir konkurencingumą. Jos bus tinkamos pritaikyti gamybinėje praktikoje ir viešai prieinamos potencialiems vartotojams; 5) Sprendžiant problemą, bus diegiamos naujos gyvulių šėrimo technologijos, siekiant sumažinti gamybos išlaidas. Atlikus visus tyrimus, bus sudaryti efektyviausi šėrimo racionai ir subalansuotas iš gyvulio gaunamos produkcijos kokybei.
