Activities

- Research activities relating to the response of plants to climate variability and mitigation interventions: endodormancy, cold requirements, sprinkler irrigation methods at low rainfall

- Comparison of the effectiveness of the various means of active defense most in use (anti-frost over-foliage irrigation, anti-frost under-foliage irrigation, anti-frost fans, pellet candles, mobile frost buster)

- Comparison of the effectiveness of various innovative active defense means (over foliage irrigation pulsar, !MED, anti-frost fans with low acoustic impact, treatments with kaolin, treatments with bio stimulant substances with cryo-protectant effect) and improvement of the anti-frost over foliage irrigation

- Evaluation of the economic and environmental sustainability of different active defense systems

Activities

- Attività di ricerca relative alla risposta delle piante alla variabilità climatiche e interventi di mitigazione: E54 fabbisogno in freddo, modalità di irrigazione per aspersione a bassa pluviometria

- Comparazione dell’efficacia dei vari mezzi di difesa attiva più in uso (sovrachioma, sotto chioma, ventilatori, candele a pellet, bruciatori mobili)

- Comparazione dell’efficacia dei vari mezzi di difesa attiva innovativi (sovrachioma pulsar, !MED, ventole antibrina a basso impatto acustico, trattamenti con caolino, trattamenti con sostanze biostimolanti ad effetto crioprotettore) e miglioramento del sistema antibrina sovrachioma

- Valutazione della sostenibilità economica e ambientale dei diversi sistemi di difesa attiva

The benefits will be greater knowledge of current climate phenomena and solutions to prevent them, as well as the strengths and weaknesses of the means currently marketed. Have more precise indications of how to use them and in which cases in relation to the characteristics of the production areas and the territory. Operators will be able to benefit from more information in choosing the purchase, in the methods of collecting forecast data, managing the moment of activation and closure of the system, and the characteristics of the machines. It will be an opportunity above all for those who face the problems for the first time. problems related to active defense means but also an update for the more experienced farmers.
