AVOID TRANSMISSION OF HLB

EVITAR LA TRANSMISIÓN DEL HLB

In order to avoid the transmission of the HLB disease from infected citrus to healthy ones, the following aspects will be taken into account in the dissemination and awareness campaigns carried out by public administrations and representative entities of the citrus sector
- Transmission by vector insects: These are the psyllids Trioza eritreae and Diaphorina citri, therefore, in areas free of these insects, vigilance will be taken to detect any of them in order to prevent their spread in a specific area, or in areas where If any of them are present, cultural practices will be carried out to reduce their population to a minimum.
- Transmission by infected tools: In areas with the presence of the HLB disease and especially by pruning, pruning (or harvesting) tools will be disinfected if possible, each time a tree is finished and moved on to the next.
- Transmission by plant material: Both within areas affected by HLB and not affected, the use of plant material that is not duly certified by the corresponding Administration as being free from pests and diseases must be strictly prohibited and prosecuted.
To this end, the Administrations will influence the appropriate and necessary outreach and awareness campaigns so that all citrus growers in each citrus region know and understand the importance of acting responsibly.

A fin de evitar la transmisión de la enfermedad del HLB de cítricos infectados a sanos se tendrán en cuenta, en las campañas de divulgación y concienciación que lleven a cabo las Administraciones públicas y las entidades representativas del sector citrícola, los siguientes aspectos
- Transmisión por insectos vectores: Son los psílidos Trioza eritreae y Diaphorina citri, por lo que, en zonas libres de estos insectos se extremará la vigilancia de detección de cualquiera de ellos para poder evitar su propagación en una zona determinada, o en zonas en la que estén presentes cualquiera de ellos se llevarán a cabo prácticas culturales tendentes a reducir al mínimo su población.
- Transmisión por herramientas infectadas: En zonas con presencia de la enfermedad HLB y especialmente por la poda, se desinfectarán las herramientas de poda (o de recolección) si fuera posible, cada vez que se finalice un árbol y se pase al siguiente.
- Transmisión por material vegetal: Tanto dentro de zonas afectadas por HLB como no afectadas, debe estar terminantemente prohibido y perseguido, la utilización la utilización de material vegetal que no esté debidamente certificado por la Administración correspondiente como que está exento de plagas y enfermedades.
A tal fin las Administraciones incidirán en las oportunas y necesarias campañas de divulgación y concienciación a fin de que todos los citricultores de cada región citrícola conozcan y entiendan la importancia de actuar responsablemente.
