Contexte

Los resultados prácticos de la propuesta son los derivados de la experimentación en materia de pastoreo y más concretamente de la selección, validación, medida y análisis de datos de los indicadores. Estos resultados se pondrán a disposición de los profesionales del sector que podrán conocer en qué estado se encuentran los encinares y pastizales que gestionan, además de familiarizarse con la toma de datos. 
El público en general también recibirá información sobre cuáles son los patrones de pastoreo beneficiosos que tienen un impacto positivo a nivel ambiental y productivo. A nivel ambiental los datos de los indicadores harán hincapié en la superficie gestionada y la capacidad para crear suelo fértil, fijar carbono y promover la biodiversidad. A nivel productivo los datos proporcionados por los indicadores se centrarán en las cantidades y formas de ingreso derivadas de las distintas actividades que dentro de la gestión de un encinar son compatibles con el pastoreo del ganado: Ratios de producción por hectárea y aquellos relativos a la comercialización de biomasa, aves de corral y hongos.

The current stock breeding pattern shows signs of declining due to the deterioration of both social and of ecological key processes. In the social level changes in the costs of supplies as the decrease in the average income per animal had led to a dramatic decrease of the number of farms and to the increase of the average age of ranchers. In the ecological level desertification risk arose as a consequence of changes in use of the land (e.g. urbanization, abandonment of herd management, etc...). It is necessary to validate the different land management strategies and practices to mitigate this trend.

 

Additional information

The practical results of this proposal are those derived from the experimentation in herd management practices and specifically in the selection, validation, measurement and analysis of indicator data. These results will be available to professionals, who will be able to know the stand point of the Oak Olm groves, and grasslands they manage, as well as getting used to data collection techniques. 

The general public will also get information on the beneficial herd management patterns that have a positive impact at both the environmental and productive levels. At an environmental level data will focus on the areal of land managed, soil building, carbon fixing and biodiversity promotion capacities of the herd managerial techniques. At a productive level data will focus on the amount and forms of income derived from the different activities included in oak olm groves management that are compatible with herd management: Stock breeding ratios and those related to the commercialization of biomass, poultry and fungi.
