1 Practice Abstracts

“The primary objective of Feanekst is to contribute to the transition of agriculture in and around nitrogen-sensitive Natura 2000 areas and in peat pastures. In this way, we contribute to climate change mitigation (and adaptation) and promote sustainable development and efficient management of natural resources such as water, soil and air. In addition, we contribute to protecting biodiversity, enhancing ecosystem services and preserving habitats and landscapes (CAP objectives). By working together, we strengthen and share knowledge on extensive nature-inclusive farming.

During the duration of the project (minimum 4 management years), Feanekst will increase groundwater levels on approximately 350 hectares and 3 participants will extensify. After the end of the CAP period, the partnership will ensure that monitoring data and other justifications are provided.”

"Het primaire doel van Feanekst is een bijdrage te leveren aan de transitie van de landbouw in en rond stikstofgevoelige Natura 2000 gebieden en in veenweidegebieden. Zo dragen wij bij aan de matiging van (en aanpassing aan) klimaatverandering en bevorderen we duurzame ontwikkeling en efficiënt beheer van natuurlijke hulpbronnen zoals water, bodem en lucht. Daarnaast dragen we bij aan de bescherming van de biodiversiteit, versterken van ecosysteemdiensten en het in stand houden van leefgebieden en landschappen (GLB doelstellingen). Door samen te werken versterken en delen we kennis over extensieve natuurinclusieve agrarische bedrijfsvoering.

Gedurende de duur van het project (minimaal 4 beheerjaren) zal Feanekst op ca. 350 hectare de grondwaterstand verhogen en zullen 3 deelnemers extensiveren. Na afloop van de GLB – periode zal het samenwerkingsverband zorgdragen dat de monitoringsgegevens en andere verantwoordingen worden geleverd."
