National Networks Meetings
These meetings are dedicated to collecting the needs of National Support Units (NSUs), promoting networking between them, providing relevant information and contributing to capacity building of NSU members. These meetings are co-hosted by the National Networks (NNs), who often suggest the main topics directly, based on their own needs.

Workshops for national networking and knowledge exchange
NNs have the same objectives and tasks as the EU CAP Network on a national level, as defined in the CAP regulation under Article 126. Even if NNs have gained experience with EIP-AGRI Operational Group (OGs) projects throughout the previous programming period, surveys and meetings have indicated that they need annual capacity-building events, support in peer-to-peer learning and guidance on identifying good practices. This would help them to carry out NN tasks and use AKIS interventions more effectively, increasing innovation and knowledge exchange.
Within this context, the EU CAP Network has been organising a workshop, on a yearly basis, with a focus on innovation, knowledge exchange and EIP-AGRI. National CAP Networks are part of the main target group, but AKIS coordination bodies, Managing Authorities and Paying Agencies have also been invited, among other relevant actors.
National Networks Cluster meetings
National Networks Clusters are informal meetings during which the NNs come together to exchange, learn and collaborate based on their geographical proximity or shared interest in a topic.
Some NNs contribute to more than one cluster. The cluster meetings go back a long way (you can read more about their history in this web article), and they are a key stakeholder-led networking action. For the EU CAP Network’s CAP Implementation Contact Point, cluster meetings are a privileged moment to meet the NNs and gather feedback on current activities and ideas for future actions.
Geographical clusters: The four geographical NN clusters are the Atlantic, Central-Eastern European, Mediterranean and Nordic-Baltic clusters, and they meet on a regular basis. Learn more about their latest meetings and the key activities they are busy with in this news article.
Thematic clusters: Five thematic clusters of NN representatives were formed following the 1st NN Meeting in March 2023. Led by the NN representatives themselves, all these thematic clusters are self-moderating and arrange their own networking through online meetings and other exchanges.
The ongoing thematic clusters are organised around the following topics:
- Communication, involvement of Pillar 1 stakeholders and dissemination of CAP Strategic Plans (CSPs)
- Rural Youth and generational renewal
- Green Architecture and eco-schemes
- CAP monitoring and evaluation
- Regional antennas
Governance meetings
The governance (organisational structure) of the EU CAP Network is based on an Assembly and a Steering group. In addition, three Subgroups of the Assembly focus on thematic work with CAP stakeholders and Member States’ administrations regarding LEADER and territorial development, innovation and knowledge exchange, and the CSPs.
