Cultivation of legumes for humus cultivation on dry sandy soils

Objectives
The project is intended to demonstrate the cultivation of fodder and grain legumes as the basis of humus cultivation in two crop sequences and to test new species in exact experiments for cultivation suitability for the present site conditions (dry sand soils). By the cultivation of previously mixed mixtures with legumes (horn clover and / or Sichelluzerne with redhorn), a new culture for the crop rotation on sandy soil is to be established. The cultivation of the alternative legumes and their possible effects for the cultivation of humus have so far not been tested on these extreme sandy soils with low rainfall supply in practice cultivation.
Objectives
Das Projekt soll den Futter- und Koernerleguminosenanbau als Grundlage des Humusaufbaus in zwei Fruchtfolgen demonstrieren und neue Arten in Exaktversuchen auf Anbaueignung fuer die vorliegenden Standortverhaeltnisse (trockene Sandboeden) pruefen. Durch den Anbau von bisher in der Praxis nicht getesteten Gemengen mit Leguminosen (Hornklee und / oder Sichelluzerne mit Rotschwingel) soll eine neue Kultur fuer die Fruchtfolge auf Sandboeden etabliert werden. Der Anbau der alternativen Leguminosen und deren moegliche Effekte fuer den Humusaufbau sind bisher auf diesen extremen Sandboeden mit geringer Niederschlagsversorgung im Praxisanbau nicht erprobt.
