Discover the podcast 'Momento Agro'

This Portuguese podcast discusses agriculture and rural development in the Alentejo region.

In the Alentejo region, in Portugal, "Momento Agro" was created, being the new podcast that aims to get the Alentejo region talking about agriculture and rural development. Each guest shared their point of view on a different topic each week, contributing to a global debate about the future of the sector. From a green and circular economy to the challenges of agrotourism, not forgetting young people and women farmers, valuing endogenous products, indigenous breeds and short circuits allied to sustainable development and with new technologies increasingly present.

Honey takes center stage in this episode of "Momento Agro", talking about the enormous diversity of species of flora and fauna that make up the Montado, a typically Mediterranean landscape, their relationships and dependencies, which includes beekeeping.

  •  The fundamental role that beekeeping plays in pollination, especially in honey species but also in the trees present in the Montado.
  •  The various types of honey that can be obtained, the most emblematic of which are rosemary, honeydew and clover.
  •  Honey and the Montado had the participation of José Vicente, from Melbionisa, Group of Biological Honey Producers of Norte Alentejano, Lda.
