Objectives

-Use of by-products to maintain the sustainability of the sector: increase in productivity and sustainability of livestock farms by:

1. Biotechnological assessment of livestock waste and its use as a substrate for the breeding of insects

2. Incorporation of by-products from insect breeding in the value chain of the primary sector due to its high content of proteins, fats, chitin and use of guano produced as biofertilizers

Objectives


-Utilización de subproductos para mantener la sostenibilidad del sector: incremento de la productividad y sostenibilidad de las explotaciones ganaderas por:

1 .Valoración biotecnologica de los residuos ganaderos y su utilización como substrato para la cría de insectos

2.Incorporación de los subproductos procedentes de la cría de insectos en la cadena de valor del sector primario por su alto contenido en proteinas, grasas, quitina  y utilización del guano producido como biofertilizantes

Activities

Evaluate the viability of insect breeding as a possible livestock solution in Castilla-La Mancha using residual substances (manure and slurry) from other farms, such as cattle or pigs, as a base

Evaluar la viabilidad de la cría de insectos como posible solución ganadera en Castilla-La Mancha empleando como base sustancias residuales (estiércol y purines) de otras explotaciones, como por ejemplo vacuno o porcino
