Mise à la terre des abreuvoirs
After identication presence of stray currents in drinking troughs of the sheep shed, breeder has decided to connect to a ground all of the drinking troughs. The impact on the drinking troughs visits and on the amount of water drunk (measured with water meters) was immediate. A better hydration of the ewes contributes to a better health condition and consequently to better reproductive results and better lambs' survival rate (particularly because of a better production of colostrum and milk).
Après avoir identifié la présence de courants vagabonds au niveau des abreuvoirs de la bergerie, l’éleveur a décidé de raccorder l’ensemble des abreuvoirs à la terre. L’effet sur la fréquentation des abreuvoirs et la quantité d’eau bue a été immédiat (observé à l’aide de compteur d’eau). Une meilleure hydratation des brebis concourt à un meilleur état sanitaire et par conséquent à de meilleurs résultats tant de reproduction que de survie des agneaux (notamment par une meilleure production de colostrum et de lait).
