Objectives
The repeated cultivation of carrots in the same soils with short rotations favored the establishment of the carrot cyst nematode on the west coast of the English Channel. The control of this pest is essential to ensure an economically viable level of production for the producer. The objective of this project is therefore to find and test innovative management levers adapted to the levels of infestation and the pedoclimatic conditions of the basin of the west coast of the Channel in order to provide economically viable solutions for producers of carrots. It will also feed into the voluntary collective fight plan developed by the sector by providing new references.
Objectives
La culture répétée de la carotte dans les mêmes sols avec des rotations courtes a favorisé l’installation du nématode à kyste de la carotte sur la côte ouest de la Manche. La maîtrise de ce ravageur est indispensable pour assurer un niveau de production économiquement viable pour le producteur. L’objectif de ce projet est donc de trouver et d’éprouver des leviers de gestion innovants adaptés aux niveaux d’infestation et aux conditions pédoclimatiques du bassin de la côte ouest de la Manche afin d’apporter des solutions économiquement viables pour les producteurs de carottes. Il alimentera également le plan collectif volontaire de lutte élaboré par la filière en apportant de nouvelles références.
