1 Practice Abstracts

Conventional Gießwagen (GW) with uncontrolled nozzles are widely used in the outdoor cultivation of ornamental plants and are used for watering and fertilizing potted plants. Due to the continuous, uncontrolled watering during the Gießwagen journey, a lot of water is lost during irrigation due to the loose arrangement of the plant pots on the area covered. This wastes resources and endangers groundwater quality. The project is therefore developing a smart sensor-based watering cart nozzle that automatically detects the position of the plants and controls an integrated magnetic valve so that water and any additives it contains reach the plant pot with exactly the right dosage. Existing watering wagons can be modernized cost-effectively in order to reduce plant production costs and contribute to environmental protection. The smart watering carriage nozzle is an integrated system consisting of optical distance sensors, a controlled valve and an intelligent evaluation unit. The watering carriage is also equipped with position sensors. All data is made available to the horticulturist in real time in a web dashboard.

Konventionelle Gießwagen (GW) mit ungesteuerten Düsen sind im Zierpflanzenanbau im Freien weit verbreitet und werden zur Bewässerung und Düngung der Topfpflanzen eingesetzt. Durch die kontinuierliche, unkontrollierte Bewässerung während der Gießwagenfahrt geht bei der Bewässerung wegen der lockeren Anordnung der Pflanztöpfe auf der überstrichenen Fläche viel Wasser verloren. Dies verschwendet Ressourcen und gefährdet die Grundwasserqualität. Im Vorhaben wird daher eine smarte sensorbasierte Gießwagendüse entwickelt, die die Position der Pflanzen eigenständig erkennt und ein integriertes Magnetventil so steuert, dass Wasser und eventuell enthaltene Zusätze genau dosiert in den Pflanzentopf gelangen. Vorhandene Gießwagen können so kostengünstig modernisiert werden, um einen Beitrag zum Umweltschutz zu leisten. Die smarte Gießwagendüse ist ein integriertes System, bestehend aus optischen Distanzsensoren, einem gesteuerten Ventil und einer intelligenten Auswerteeinheit. Der Gießwagen wird zusätzlich mit Positionssensoren ausgestattet. Alle Daten werden dem Gärtner in Echtzeit in einem Web-Dashboard verfügbar gemacht.
